Matula Adams, M.D. left her home in Dallas, Texas, and went back into residency at St. Johns Episcopal Hospital in Queens (New York) late in the fall of 2019 unaware that a global pandemic would strike. She soon found herself in the vortex of the crisis, seeing the first patient with the Coronavirus - and then the wave of cases hit like a tsunami. You’ll hear our conversation from April 1 where Dr. Adams describes her work in the E.R., Intensive Care and Cardiac Care units, and the overwhelming pressures. Then, Ken interviews her for a second time in July of 2020, updating, reminiscing, and reflecting on the severity of the crisis that lives with us today. SEE SHOW NOTES
