Waseema Ali, Attorney at Law

Seema is originally from Skokie, Illinois and now calls Indianapolis, Indiana home. She holds degrees in law and biology from Valparaiso University and Purdue University respectively.

Before taking a sabbatical, Waseema was the Managing Director of the Desmond Tutu Center for Peace, Reconciliation and Global Justice at Butler University and the Christian Theological Seminary.

Her past work includes strategic planning, non-profit management, empowerment talks for victims of domestic violence, youth leadership workshops and cultural sensitivity trainings for social work and law enforcement personnel.

Her previous appointments include Vice Chair of the Center For Interfaith Cooperation Board of Directors, ambassador for Indy Reads, an adult literacy program, Amnesty International and Interfaith Youth Core.

Michael Meulenberg, Ph.D.

Dr. Michal Meulenberg is passionate about mobilizing the next generation to be reconciliation workers in the way of Jesus in their own lives, locally and around the world.

She works as a professor at Fuller Theological Seminary and Biola University teaching Muslim-Christian relations, conflict transformation, grassroots peacebuilding, and justice advocacy. She has an MA in English and Journalism, a Master of Divinity, an MA in Intercultural Studies, and a Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies.

She co-founded People of Peace, Inc, a non-profit focused on peace education and 2 Faiths 1 Friendship, a grassroots Muslim-Christian peace-building initiative that has connected over 2000 Muslims and Christians. The latter has been nominated for and won several awards.

She is additionally actively involved in combatting mass incarceration through advocacy, interactive educational experiences, and grassroots activism.
