Brenda Renderos and Lamont Hartman join Ken for a lively discussion around the illusive dream of reconciliation in our neighborhoods, politics, and churches. Lamont is the lead Pastor of Reconcile Church - a place for seekers, the disillusioned, and those who no longer relate to traditional places of worship. Brenda traveled with Ken on the Civil Rights Tour of the South and has worked along with him at the Center for Restorative Justice. She is a Certified Life Coach with a focus on spiritual direction. Brenda, Lamont and Ken affirm that a commitment to racial reconciliation is hard work - and our existing churches and institutions have fallen well short of facing our own complicity, leaving many feeling alienated and isolated. Lamont is a PhD candidate at San Francisco Theological Seminary. His dissertation focuses on the plight of pastors of color in historically, predominantly white churches. What Is A Life Coach?
The term “Life Coach” can be a bit broad. It’s often a term that gets thrown around and can mean different things
to different people. There are many types of coaching and with social media, it can look like influencers,
motivators and simple steps to a better life.
Hello, I’m Brenda Renderos.
My favorite part of what I do is helping others on their path of discovery and growth. Time spent hearing you, listening to you, and helping you make discoveries about how rich and deep your life and relationship with God can be and the growth that can come from that. Growth in your relationships, career, schooling and those dreams and goals you’ve been trying to figure out how to reach. Seeing the light begin to shine within you and your path coming clearer into view is an absolute joy!
I am ACC accredited through the International Coaching Federation and hold a B.A. in Christian Studies. I’ve served and been employed in various areas of ministry in leadership, soul care, speaking and teaching as well as guiding interns exploring vocational ministry. I’ve had the privilege of leading outreach trips to Cambodia and Thailand where I helped prepare the teams spiritually and created spiritual formation spaces on their journey. I’ve led spiritual retreats, provided soul care workshops for vocational ministry interns, trained small group leaders and global outreach leaders in a variety of areas. I’ve enjoyed speaking and teaching at School of Ministry, Youth and Young Adult ministries as well and mid-week services.

Lamont Hartman is the lead Pastor for The Reconcile Church, a multiracial, multigenerational, multisite, church planting movement in Southern California. His desire is to see people live out the ministry of reconciliation; seeing people reconciled to God, to one another, and to the local church. Lamont is a husband, happily married to his wife Letty. He is also a father to five beautiful children, Selah, Duncan, Elsye, Liam, and Jackson. All of Lamont and Letty’s children love church mainly because of the awesome donuts served each Sunday.
